A flat rate may be suitable for a small product and inadequate for a heavy or bulky item. Free-shipping promotions can also create unexpected exposure when delivery costs vary across products, zones or shipping classes.
Shipping Profit Guard Pro provides a focused audit inside WordPress. It does not replace your WooCommerce shipping methods, change checkout rates or automatically edit products and orders. Instead, it helps you compare supported configured shipping charges with merchant-defined delivery-cost assumptions so that you can investigate risky scenarios and make informed decisions.

Weight-based shipping cost model
Estimate delivery exposure using a configurable base cost, cost per billable kilogram and handling cost. Billable weight uses the larger of the product’s physical weight and its dimensional-weight estimate.
Dimensional-weight calculation
Bulky products can cost more to ship even when they are relatively light. Enter the dimensional divisor used for your analysis and let Pro compare total physical weight with the dimensional estimate derived from product length, width and height. Always confirm the divisor and rounding rules with your carrier.
Zone and shipping-class cost profiles
Create reusable cost assumptions for specific WooCommerce shipping zones, shipping classes or wildcard combinations. Profiles allow different product and destination scenarios to use different base, per-kilogram and handling assumptions without changing the shipping methods customers see at checkout.
CSV audit export
Export the current product audit page to CSV for review in Excel, Google Sheets or another spreadsheet application. Reports include the product, shipping method, configured charge, estimated cost, shortfall and assessment information shown by the audit.
Recorded order delivery-cost comparisons
Enter an order ID and the carrier or fulfilment cost you actually recorded for that order. Pro compares that amount with the original shipping charge, excluding shipping tax, for supported processing and completed orders. The cost annotation belongs to the audit plugin and does not modify the WooCommerce order.
Free plugin features included in the workflow
Pro works as an add-on and requires the free Altrix Shipping Profit Guard for WooCommerce plugin to remain installed and active. The free plugin provides the core product audit, including supported fixed flat-rate and shipping-class calculations, free-shipping threshold scenarios, missing weight and dimension warnings, shipping-class warnings and heavy or long product alerts.

How the shipping audit works
- Install WooCommerce and the free Shipping Profit Guard plugin.
- Install and activate Shipping Profit Guard Pro.
- Enter your delivery-cost assumptions and optional zone/class profiles.
- Select a WooCommerce shipping zone and scenario quantity.
- Run the product audit and review configured charges, estimated costs and potential shortfalls.
- Verify flagged scenarios against your real checkout, carrier terms and fulfilment records before changing shipping rules.
Example shipping-cost gap
If a supported WooCommerce method charges the customer $5 while your modeled delivery cost is $14, the audit reports an estimated shipping shortfall of $9. This is a shipping-contribution comparison, not a complete product-profit calculation. Product cost, payment fees, tax recovery, advertising costs and other overheads are outside this calculation.
Read-only by design
The plugin is designed for auditing and reporting. It does not automatically change product prices, shipping classes, shipping zones, shipping methods, checkout rates or order totals. You remain in control of every operational change. Audit settings and manually recorded delivery-cost annotations are stored separately from core WooCommerce product and order data.
Important modeling limits
Each product audit row represents one product multiplied by the selected quantity, modeled as one parcel in the selected zone. Mixed carts, carton packing, live carrier APIs, destination surcharges, carrier rounding, coupons, checkout filters and third-party rate extensions are not fully simulated. Unsupported formulas and ambiguous configurations are marked for manual review. Always verify important findings against a real checkout scenario and the relevant carrier invoice or fulfilment statement.
